Week 40
If you’re a Fan Girl/Boy of the sport - you know what weekend it is. IM World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. This is the first year that the men and women are split between two distances, which means double the field sizes & 100% of the coverage focused on 2000+ of the most badass women in triathlon. From professional athletes, to full-time moms, to “retired” collegiate athletes and those that had to learn how to swim to be able to qualify; there’s a feel-good, inspiring and empowering story in every one of these athletes that tread the start line.
Below, you will find a list of the top predictions for the winner on Saturday - we always have to root for the under dog, but who exactly is that? This might be the deepest field we’ve ever seen, and we know these women are gritty, and all want it just as badly as the next. Guess we’ll just have to wait to see if it “comes down to the run” and who can dig the deepest.

Tidbits
The beginnings of the Hawaiian Iron Man Triathlon : In 1978, Judy and John Collins decided that touring the island for leisure was simply, not hardcore enough. The married couple decided on hosting a 1.2 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run - spanning several biomes and landscapes. The first year, 15 men started, and 12 finished. This year, more than 2000 women athletes take to the field in hopes of earning the coveted title - IRONMAN.
✅Real Life Ghost & Spooky Stories: National Parks are super secluded - making them the perfect spot for ghost stories, REAL murder mysteries and bone-chilling tales. Maybe not read this article if you’ve got a trip planned to the National Park.
✅F the $30 socks: These socks are so f**king good - they’re like the fancy ones you buy from your LRS (local running shop), but 1/3 of the price, and cuter colors (we think).
✅Cycling Tech: Just like aerobars, and aero helmets, sh*t is getting over-engineered in the cycling world, once again. Paint jobs, geometry and more get a not-needed upgrade.
✅Speed Dating Wedding: Chicago Marathon participants had a shot this year to get married at one of the most iconic Chicago wedding venues - Wrigley Building. More than 200 couples, with at least 1 mate needing to have been registered for the Sunday 26.2, tied the knot this year in 15-minute ceremonies.
